Chilli Lime Mangonada Jello Shots

Bright, bold, and packed with flavour — these Chilli Lime Mangonada Jello Shots are a playful, high-impact bite perfect for events, catering menus, or bar programs looking to stand out!

Developed by our Culinary Director, Alyse Baca, this recipe is based on the classic frozen Mangonada! Layered with sweet mango purée, tart lime, chamoy, and tequila for a balanced hit of heat and citrus, they can't be beat!

Finished with a dusting of Spicewalla Chilli Lime Seasoning, each shot delivers that tangy, sour, spicy kick chefs know and love.

Whether you’re testing flavour pairings behind the bar or dreaming up new small-plate ideas, this one’s a fun way to bring bold flavour to the table.

Ingredients

½ cup water
2 (.25oz) packets of unflavored gelatin
1 cup mango puree
1 cup mango juice 
½ cup granulated sugar
1 Tbsp lime juice
1 cup vodka or tequila blanco
Chamoy sauce 
Spicewalla Chilli Lime
24 (2oz) portion cups with lids

Recipe

  1. Heat water and gelatin in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisking until the gelatin has dissolved, about 5 minutes. 

  2. Add the mango purée, mango juice, sugar, and lime juice, whisk contstanty and warm on medium heat for about another 5 minutes. Remove from heat to cool slightly.

  3. Whisk vodka or tequila into the cooled mango gelatin until combined.

  4. Add a few drops of chamoy sauce into the bottom of each 2-oz cup. Fill each cup evenly with mango gelatin mixture. Place the lids on each cup and set them in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight.

  5. When ready to serve, remove from the fridge and remove the lids. Sprinkle the Chilli Lime on each jello shot and enjoy!
